Bells&Whistles for Outlook v.4.0 increases productivity and efficiency when dealing with repetitive email tasks
Bucharest, Romania
Bucharest, Romania DS DEVELOPMENT has released version 4.0 of their email productivity and time-saving program, Bells & Whistles for Outlook. This feature-rich add-in is designed to increase users' productivity and efficiency, all the while reducing the annoyances of day-to-day tasks. The latest installment brings new features, improves the already existing ones, adds a totally revamped and more user-friendly interface and support for Microsoft Office 2010.
Bells & Whistles for Outlook seeks to address the needs of all modern users, delivering 30 bundled HTML templates, many predefined alerts and an easy update system. These, in addition to the ever-increasing feature list, are all presented in the familiar Outlook interface, increasing the usability and efficiency of Outlook itself in the process. One can make use of alerts, side email notes, custom signatures, disclaimer notices, tracking IDs, date and time stamps, custom templates and many more, all options being grouped as complex send rules that can be defined for specific email addresses, the particular type of emails or both.
Version 4.0 brings a new, totally revamped interface for quicker access to the most useful functions, guaranteed support for Microsoft Office 2010 32-bit and 64-bit and full support for non-ASCII content so that all special characters and symbols will appear correctly. In addition, users will now find a Print Selection feature included right in the message window, one which was lacking from Outlook until now, that is designed to meet the demands of those who want to be able to print only certain sections of their emails. Furthermore, some business-related emails require a Disclaimer Notice to be attached to the message body for legal or copyright issues – this can now be added automatically by using the customizable filters from the new, built-in option.
In version 4.0 the alerts and notes features have also been updated, now users can add new alerts for averting situations where they write either the body or the subject of the email in capital letters by mistake or send an email with an executable attached. The side email notes can now be viewed either in a new window that pops up upon opening the message or in the same one, inside a dedicated panel. If multiple accounts are used during the same session, a new feature that asks which of the accounts the email will be sent from can be enabled so that users will always know what they send from each address.
Bells & Whistles for Outlook brings these fresh additions to an already large feature-pack that increases performance both at home and at the office, while diminishing the repetition and frustrations of common tasks. Users can quickly compose a personalized message by configuring reply greetings, email templates, signatures or even side email notes. Adding contacts, the default Outlook email reply format, email addresses for the CC, BCC, Forward or Reply-To fields can be set up during a quick, one-time configuration process and edited with ease afterwards. The most used email message patterns such as contact information, images, web page addresses and signatures, or any other predefined texts or HTML templates can be inserted, both automatically and by using user-defined keyboard shortcuts. In addition, custom font stiles can be applied to the templates for a more personal and professional look.
Because when resending an email one has to manually retype or copy each of the email fields, Bells and Whistles features the Send Again option, so with just one click the message is either on its way or ready for editing. Users can track the messages and discussion threads by adding tracking IDs within the subject of outgoing email replies both for any new, forwarded or replied-to message and append date and time stamps with ease. Equally important to note is the ability to quickly generate messages with unique TO fields by starting email merge sessions and automatically specify a Reply-To address for all outgoing emails, thus saving the hassle of manually setting up these features every time.
The alerts feature notifies the user of missing attachments, subject lines, monitors the reply-to-all function and now, situations where only capital letters are used by mistake or the attachments contain executable files. Also, any number of new alerts can be defined by the user easily. The attachments can be automatically archived when sending a message in order to save disk space and rules can be set up so that Outlook allows or denies the opening of specific file attachments. For security reasons, users can also password protect the Outlook unsafe file extension blocking list.
Additionally, Bells & Whistles for Outlook comes with an Outlook Add-in Utility intended to help users manage, enable and disable installed Outlook add-ins easily.
Bells & Whistles for Outlook is available directly from DS Development SRL. An electronic-only version with complete manual and tutorials costs $29.95 (US). Site licenses are available. Bells & Whistles v4.0 runs under Windows 95/98/ME/NT 4.0, Windows 2000, 2003, XP and Windows 7, being supported by Microsoft Office Outlook 2000 or higher, including Microsoft Office Outlook 2010 on both the 32 and 64-bit platforms.
